How to preserve healthy teeth?

We all know that sugar, physical damage and diseases such as periodontitis, are the worst enemies of healthy teeth, but you should not forget the little things that may affect the hygiene of the mouth and cause tooth decay.

Nocturnal teeth grinding (bruxism)

Biting plastic packaging, can damage the teeth enamel, normally one of the strongest substances in our body.

Lozenges against cough and colds

Even buying them at a pharmacy does not mean they are healthy. Just like candy or sweet drinks, they contain a lot of sugar, which bacteria from dental plaque convert in acid, and the result is dental caries.

Starchy foods

Such as potato chips, is also a good base for bacteria from plaque, especially if it gets stuck between the teeth.

Sunflower or pumpkin seeds

In itself are good for the health, but if you clean them by biting them, it is possible that pieces of the shell end up in the space between the teeth and gums, which can cause inflammation. In addition, snacks reduce production of the saliva, which results in a slower self-cleaning of the oral cavity.
